LAUNCH: PETRICHOR X, Beachkin, and two summer Pixie Puffs

welcome to summer part i. y'all, i saw like 30 people get on the site at the same time and i'm so nervous i can barely type. i started bumbling around and making dumb mistakes, so if you see anything weird let me know!

PETRICHOR X

the PETRICHOR X collection is a permanent collection that will have a rotating seasonal catalogue.

• PETRICHOR x sunshower valley: chaparral resin exudate, sweet orange, mountain laurel, cold rain warming on damp skin, sagebrush, pinon, wet sand, desert rain, scattered orange blossom petals

• PETRICHOR x glass jungle: sulfurous tropical fruit, crushed ferns, fogged glass walls, heady hothouse flowers, unearthly orchids & looming mushrooms, buzzing grow lights, irrigation tubes, sprinkler water

• PETRICHOR x sylph hollow: sparkling rain on the orchards & gardens in the sylphaene woodlands - peach blossoms, pixie plum nectar, lilac, wisteria, dewy woodland mosses, woodland rain

• PETRICHOR x lost epitaph: briar rose, narcissus, creeping ivy, crumbling headstones, cemetery rain

• PETRICHOR x perilla garden: sparkling maesil tea, potting soil, perilla leaf, rhubarb, bean sprouts, rain-soaked hinoki trees, hiba cedar mulch, lapsang souchong, garden rain (FS purchases benefit Stop AAPI Hate)
  

• PETRICHOR x the seahorse: cherry lipgloss, gardenia tanning oil, rain falling on chlorinated pool water, wet swimsuits, ocean water slushies, vinyl pool chair slats, and the ambient smell of popcorn and cotton candy from Tom’s Snack Shack

• PETRICHOR x dude ranch: the rain on the plains - wet green grass, ozone, dust, dried hay, mud, green leather, warm animal musk, blonde tobacco, Virginia cedarwood

• PETRICHOR x the lighthouse: the cozy aftermath of a seaside storm - maritime pine, ozone, heather, bloodmoss, rocky wet sand, black tea, wet wool drying by the fire

• PETRICHOR x night work: a steady downpour on an unapologetically indolic garden of orange blossoms, narcissus, jasmine grandiflorum, rose, and tuberose with cigarette smoke and black coffee

PIXIE PUFFS

$1 from each FS purchase of Mermallow Puff and Moonmallow Puff will benefit Stop AAPI Hate.

• Mermallow Puff: salted pitaya, papaya milk, crushed fig, oolong, jasmine sambac sco2, red seaweed, sand-encrusted matcha marshmallows

• Moonmallow Puff: lychee rice milk, pandan, gardenia, tuberose, ambergris, coconut mallow creme

NEW 'KIN

• Beachkin: banana, banana leaf, orange blossom, brown sugar, and golden sands on a Fluffkin base

FAQ

TIMEFRAME

summer part i will be available from June 15th through September 15th 2024.

AVAILABILITY / RESTOCKS

all perfumes from summer part i will be available as samples and full size bottles until September 15th. anything that sells out before this date will be restocked ASAP.

after that date, anything left over will get added to the site as a 5mL bottle.

DONATIONS

this season's donations will benefit Stop AAPI Hate. (this is a recurring scent and will return every year, so if you have any suggestions for future nonprofits that serve Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, please do let me know.)

there are two ways to contribute!

first, this season's benefit scent is perilla garden. the profits from all full size bottles of perilla garden will be donated to Stop AAPI Hate at the end of the season (September). the amount kept by me from each bottle includes the costs of the materials and the bottle, and my full size prices are also calculated to include overhead from running the business as well.

secondly, $1 from every FS sale of full size bottles of both moonmallow puff and mermallow puff will also be collected and donated to Stop AAPI Hate. i know that perilla garden's notes won't necessarily appeal to everyone who'd like their purchase to contribute to the donation pool, so i wanted to offer another way to contribute.

i'll have a blog post later with some perfumer's musings and breakdowns, including inspirations and my thought / creative process behind perilla garden.

ABOUT STOP AAPI HATE

after the pandemic began in february 2020, there was a steep rise in reported hate incidents against the AAPI community nationwide. hate crimes are under-reported, so these likely only represent a fraction of the racially motivated violence Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders faced, which makes the advocacy work Stop AAPI Hate performs extremely important. Stop AAPI Hate is a nonprofit coalition that began in California and built a nationwide non-governmental community-based reporting system called the Stop AAPI Hate Reporting Center that is used to collect and aggregate data about racially motivated violence. this is only a brief summary of the scope & breadth of their work - you can read more about Stop AAPI Hate's platform and social advocacy here: https://stopaapihate.org/

Skullkin was our Autumn 2023 donation scent benefiting United We Dream. there are at least 5 bottles left over from my last batch that i've been meaning to add to the site! as a result, i still have not donated the amounts from these sales because i'd prefer to do it all at once!
