If you've emailed and I've given you a specific date and haven't met it, I apologize.

The "why" is below.

For now, here's a general rubric for expectations.

I am processing stuff in batches and the stuff in these batches may not ship chronologically depending on a number of factors, but I've skipped ahead to the end of all triggered shipping notifications and am processing bottle orders. So.

If you have...

• a BOTTLE-ONLY order, and you...
• already have a shipping notification, you can expect yours to ship early this next week. These have been labelled and filled.
• do not have a shipping notification yet: you can expect your order to either receive a tracking update by Wednesday or an outreach from me if there's a stock issue.
• a MIXED order, and you...
• already have a shipping notification but have not seen movement, and yours is an early order, your packing slip likely got shuffled around in the chaos - packing slips are being balanced against my records to check for any early orders that haven't seen movement yet. Yours will be packed tomorrow and prioritized for Monday shipment, and I will be reaching out to those impacted tomorrow after I consolidate the records, pinky promise.
  
• do not have a shipping notification yet: you can expect your order to either receive a tracking update by Thursday or Friday or an outreach from me if there's a stock issue.
  
• Everything in between, I hope to get out by Friday.
• ANY ORDER that hasn't shipped and you want a refund, hit me up. You don't even need to write anything if you don't want to - just put your order # and "Refund" in the title and I'll handle it. You'll get an email from Shopify.
  

And here's the why/how/what's up:

I am out of my normal sample vials.

My samples have been on order for over a month now - they usually don't take this long to ship.

In normal circumstances, they would have gotten here a couple of weeks ago, before this became a problem, but this time they've only just now shipped and will be here in another month. (Karma???)

In the interim, I've been rapidly running out & playing musical labels, borrowing pre-labeled vials to re-label them and fulfill daily orders. I hit the last of the labels this week & I've been having to purchase various sample vials in batches of like 10-40 from Amazon currently so that I can ensure I get some in every single day - if you try to buy too many packs, it delays the delivery, so.

I'm kind of rate limited by how many I can get in per day but I'm at a point now where I feel like I have a decent stash.

I am ceasing the EDT program.

Due to the evaporation issues, I did two things - I switched samples to EDTs and began overfilling sample vials to their full capacity, 2.8mL.

This has had three major consequences, which most people likely would have foreseen. But not me! I am actually a very dumb person!

2a) I am filling an extra sample's worth of perfume for every two samples. This adds up really fast, especially for the PETRICHOR collection, since some of these are very limited in nature (in terms of frequency or volume of material resupplies). Outside of a few issues getting some materials for my marshmallow accords, having to re-compound the PETRICHOR series on a weekly basis is causing the hold-up on orders.

2b) I am blowing through a ton of perfumer's alcohol doing EDTs, and it does take a bit to get here, so that's been a fun thing. Not a major thing, but definitely impactful.

3c) In order to fulfill the sheer number of sample EDTs, I'm having to make up two stocks of each scent, and when the EDT runs out (which it does quickly due to 2a), I have to borrow from the EDP stock, which means bottle orders then get delayed. I've taken to only whipping up enough EDT to fill for each day but I spend a good chunk of time every day weighing out the EDTs so I don't run out of the EDPs.

Like, looking at all that typed out, it makes sense yeah? It did occur to me that the overfills were super unsustainable - I thought I'd be able to switch to smaller samples, but I'm currently on the smallest size offered in my configuration/customizations, and I really did not have time to find a new supplier before ordering more samples.

To recap.

• When you get your order, it will likely have mismatched vials.
• I am no longer offering EDTs
• Samples will go back to being EDP only, at .75mL for premium scents and 1mL for regular, with just a slight overfill to account for any en route evaporation.

And some side notes.

• Friendly reminder that PETRICHOR will continue to be restocked til October.
• I'm going to have to chill on the freebies for now, which makes me pretty sad, but. :\ I've been sending out extra samples - usually 2-3 per order - and upgrading bottles to 10mL EDPs when possible. If your order doesn't contain the full "holy shit I fucked up" suite of extras, my apologies, but I'll find another way to make it up to you - I'm thinkin'.
• August preorders that do not contain PETRICHOR orders are definitely on track to ship before the end of the month. Orders with PETRICHOR scents have been tallied up & supplies are on order where necessary; I don't anticipate overages at this time, but if there are any, I will make outreach to all individuals impacted.
• I will have more news about what September's preorder looks like as we get closer to September.
