Plushkin is my new favorite fragrance. The lavender, orange blossom, rasberry, and pink marshmallow have the perfect contrast of herbal and sweet… just heavenly …
ahh, yay! i'm so happy you love it!
The opening is definitely a combination of the two lavenders, and it takes you aback at first. I wasn’t expecting that kind of intensity. It’s sharp, camphorous, aromatic, and resinous, with an almost Sharpie-like quality. It softens pretty quickly, and once that intensity settles, the Spanish lavender overpowers the alpine, taking the chair at the head of the table. Then, oddly enough, a bushel of Meyer lemons appears. They aren’t listed, but that distinctly citrusy lemon character is there, softened by a semi-floral edge.
The more I spray, the less I mind that bracing introduction. In fact, once you move beyond its brutish nature, it is just as relaxing as its English counterpart. Choosing to go outside the familiar English lavender profile is what makes Plushkin unique and gives it an entirely different personality.
Well into the drydown, crushed raspberries join a pink sugary sweetness, warmed by vanilla with a slightly powdery layer underneath. It’s not overly sweet, just the right amount of that familiar marshmallow bounce with a pink tinge.
It is a lovely, plush finish of pink sugar, citrus, and lavender, with a comforting quality that feels almost like being rocked to sleep.
oh no, i did forget to list the lemon. i'll fix that!
the sharpie smell's from the anisyl acetone in the raspberry accord. sorry it sticks out for you, but i'm glad you enjoyed the scent otherwise! thanks so much for the review!
