Vintage sophistication

This is quite a "perfume-y" perfume, so it won't appeal to every lover of indie scents, but I really enjoy it. It's a bone-dry floral with a bitter edge: the vibe is cool and classy, a 1920s heiress reading and discarding love letters from her many suitors.

Sultry in a cozy way

One of the few scents that manages to be both sultry and cozy! The jasmine is quite animalics thanks to the thick honey but in the most addictive way. It sits on a base of syrupy silvery gold amber w plenty of ambergris. I'm so glad I have plenty of this one as it's everything I want in a perfume!

The Queen of Lullabies

There’s a slightly sharp green foliage at first that soon gives way to a drier lavender. I really like that transition, especially as the violet comes through with that familiar petal-soft powderiness. The vanilla and cocoa eventually settle into that recognizable Stuffkin finish: soft, pillowy, and plush. It’s an interesting combination that feels made for nighttime.

Impressive realism

Ooh this is delicious, the opening smells exactly like opening a bag of the freshest marshmallows, although as it dries it reminds me more of fluffy homemade marshmallows with real vanilla. I thought this was going to be either really powdery or overly sweet, but the white musk really smooths it out, making it airy and light and realistic.

There is just a hint of that powdery sweetness, but it never feels dry or scratchy or overcomes the smooth marshmallow fluff center, just photo realistic marshmallow.

I do get a little bit of something that I associate more with skin musk than white musk, the barest touch of sheer, almost salty warmth, it sits very close to the skin, but I think it really adds a lot to the overall scent profile, making it feel balanced and realistic — if someone smelled you, they would get 100% marshmallow, but something about the musk really helps it work well on skin, as well as preventing it from pulling really sweet on the drydown which is a problem I have with lots of gourmands.

I don't usually wear gourmands on their own, but I see so much layering potential here.

Marshmallow Puff

Bright, beautifully unique, and so wearable!

An opening of golden apricot nectar and fine brandy are instantly intoxicating, brightened with sticky citrus peel and zesty chai spices. Sichuan pepper emerges, its natural citrus fragrance and notes of pine resin giving a delicious complexity to the blend, as it infuses the brandy with its deep, floral heat.

I'm not usually a big fan of peppers or cognac in perfumes (or citrus now that I think about it lol) but this is so addictive. Cheerful and warm without the harsh, tannic fruitiness that most cognac notes have, with a perfect balance between the festive top notes.

I didn't think I was going to get any of the oat milk or caterpillar fluff (and I'm not sure how much time has passed because I've just been sniffing my wrist for a while), but the nutty, creamy oat milk slowly emerges from the base, milky and comfortingly cool, easiest the heat of the Sichuan peppers. I'm going to be honest, I don't know what caterpillar fluff smells like quality to the oat milk compared to the way I experienced it in **Starkin**.

I was really excited to try this one because I love cozy scents and was obsessed with the oat milk in Starkin, but this really exceeded my expectations!

Isabella Tiger Moth

Elegant yet comforting

Opens with bright, warm spices over thick, buttery coconut horchata. The pale silk of silver amber smooths the blend, its airy chill revealing the soft, sweet petals of pink carnation. The blooms' gentle spices mingle with fresh nutmeg and creamy horchata, taking on a peppery warmth. A touch of golden amber deepens the comforting warmth, swirling seamlessly with the rich horchata and smooth silver amber for an elegant, yet cozy vibe.

I can easily see this being a cold weather favorite for me, so many elements that I love: lactonics, white/silver and golden amber blended, florals and soft spices. Unfortunately I often find spices quite overwhelming, but as usual, Mythpunk blends with a delicate hand, creating a scent that combines ethereal elegance and gentle comfort.

Also for floral haters, these carnations are very subtle just adding a bit of complexity to the spices.

On the drydown, the golden amber shines through, subtle notes of resinous woods giving a toasty warmth to the milky spices and soft florals. Can't wait to smell this one in the cold!

White Poodle Moth

The sum of its paper parts

Ah! This is not mint forward like I was afraid it would be. My mint-hating heart can unclench. Immediately, I get the recognizable, faintly fibrous smell of a new pack of notebook paper being freed from its plastic prison. The pulped wood of freshly cut lumber could easily seem the same as its fibrous twin, but there is a distinction here: processed vs. raw. The iris softens that paperiness into something powdery, met by a vanilla that feels dry and almost splintered. Paper accords seem to be woven throughout this scent, each one a different interpretation of the material and its origins. The ink leaves an earthy smear with just a subtle iron/metallic scent. You know how when you’re writing, lift your hand, and slightly curse because your palm left a partial stain on your almost finished essay? That smell. This whole concept is just a four-sided square of wood variants with a botanical wrapping: damp soil and mossy stone with an airy shimmer around it. The grassy, dry mate caps each corner, carrying the teeny, weeniest wisp of smoke. Final picture: a medieval servant tucked away amongst the trees, quietly copying letters as the ink begins to dry.

Love the new packaging!

I have ordered 5 or 6 trinket packs at this point and they always come packaged safely (and in eco-friendly paper packaging, no plastic packing materials, which I love). My most recent order came promptly and with kind extras and the trinkets themselves came in new to me sample bottles with black sprayers that sprayed easily and well, no leaks whatsoever, and as always the scents inside were unique and beautiful - I am always surprised and delighted by Ashe’s creations. Alllllll the marshmallows

Nothing like standing knee-deep in marshmallows!! Soft, pillowy, and vanilla sweet, this is unequivocally MARSH-MAL-LOW. When the white musk comes in, it gives our favorite treat individuality and adds dimension. It elevates something familiar into something special. Think of the marshmallow as a beautiful wedding dress and the white musk as the veil. The dress is beautiful on its own, but the veil is its signature.

the smell of childhood hikes

Willowherb is INCREDIBLE. I didn't know what to expect from the notes (honestly true for everything from Mythpunk, the fragrances tend to be more of a vibe than the sum of its parts), but I read 'dry atmospheric' and knew I had to try.

I was really surprised upon smelling this to find that it pulled up a memory of hiking as a kid! I grew up in the southwest, so while we DID have forests we visited sometimes, they were high altitude and very dry and bright. This smells like those forests to me and brings up a lot of happy memories of walking with my childhood dogs and playing in the woods with my siblings.

I also thought it was a little spicy/peppery once dry, and I came looking for the notes again to find Ashe had updated them to include that little hidden one :P it fits so well with the dry cedar! Incredible scent and I have immense respect for any fragrance that can pull a feeling/memory out of me like that, I'm going to be snagging a full bottle of this as soon as I can.
