✦ scent notes
a steady downpour on an unapologetically indolic garden of orange blossoms, narcissus, jasmine grandiflorum, rose, and tuberose with wisps of cigarette smoke and black coffee.
✦ dedication
this is the amalgamation of multiple memories - the last day i spent with my mom, and the nights i spent alone in the garden drinking coffee & smoking the cigarettes she'd left behind.

Quite botanical, heavy on the fern-like greenery. There is a dampness to the flowers—not quite rain, but a feeling. Humid. Living. As though the blooms are still attached to the plant rather than arranged in a vase.
I cannot make out the coffee, but I can imagine the cigarette smoke. To my nose, the indolic florals and green facets are the stars of the show, while the coffee and cigarette smoke linger more like shadows around the edges. This is very much a floral experience, with the smoke and ash adding atmosphere rather than taking center stage.
